It has a capacity of around 40 standard-sized black bin bags with an approximate size of: 1.8m long x 1.3m wide x 1m high (approx).

Commonly known as a “standard builder's skip” this is the most popular skip size, ideal for both domestic and commercial/business customers. It is suitable for domestic DIY projects such as flat, (smaller) house and garage clearances and for commercial work such as small office clearances or construction, driveway or landscaping jobs involving soil, stone and/or rubble. It has a capacity of around 65-80 standard-sized black bin bags with an approximate size of: 3.1m long x 1.9m wide x 1.6m high.

A 14 yard skip is suitable for larger domestic house clearances and for commercial work such as medium-sized office clearances, small warehouse clear-outs and shop refits which typically involve the disposal of bulky, awkwardly-shaped waste e.g. lengths of wood, metal, plastic and oversized packaging. It has a capacity of around 115-135 standard-sized black bin bags with an approximate size of: 4m x 1.9m x 2m high.

A 20 yard skip is suitable for larger commercial site work including refitting and/or clearances of commercial/industrial premises including warehouses, offices and larger retail units and sites where continuous amounts of waste are being produced and regular removal is required. It has a capacity of around 200-220 standard-sized black bin bags with an approximate size of: 7m long x 2.5m wide x 1.9m high.

If you've never hired a skip in before it can be confusing. We'll explain how it works...
You phone us
We need some information from you so we’ll ask: the skip size you want (or the amount of waste), your address, the type of waste, your desired delivery date & where the skip is to be dropped e.g. drive, road or garden. We’ll then quote you a price and if you are happy we’ll take a card payment and book your hire.
We deliver the skip
On delivery day, our skip driver will deliver and unload the skip at the given address in the place you have advised. You then have a week to load your waste into it.
We collect the skip
Once you have finished with your skip simply call us to arrange a collection day when you would like the filled skip to be taken away and our skip lorry driver will call and collect it from your property. If you need to hire any additional skips then please advise and we can arrange a swap over.

Five facts about Ayrshire
- Prestwick in South Ayrshire was the location for the one and only visit of the king of rock and roll – Elvis Presley – to UK soil when his military plane touched down at Prestwick Airport in 1960 for a refuelling stop en route to America from the US army base in Germany where he was stationed.
- Ayrshire has its very own breed of cow – the Ayrshire – recognised since 1814 and exported around the world, this red & white cattle bred for efficient milk production was once the backbone of Ayrshire’s dairy industry.
- Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire is the birthplace of one of Scotland’s most famous whisky brands – Johnnie Walker – which was originally distilled and sold in a Kilmarnock shop.
- Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is an Ayrshire native, having been born in Irvine and having spent her formative years in Dreghorn and Prestwick.
- Ayrshire’s most famous son and export, the poet Robert Burns was born in 1759 in Alloway, South Ayrshire in a cottage that you can still visit today. Centuries later his song “Auld Lang Syne” is still sung the world over at New Year.
